Lira Reacts To Her Single Remix With Maphorisa Receiving A Nomination At The SAMAs. Lerato “Lira” Molapo was born in Daveyton, South Africa, on March 14, 1979. After winning a competition for young singers and songwriters, Lira started performing live at the age of 16, singing both cover versions and self-penned songs. In 2000 she was discovered by musician and producer Arthur Mafokate, who had her sign with his own record label, 999 Music, and helped her release her debut album, All My Love (2003).
Popular singer Lira could not hide her joy following the nomination of the remix of her song Feel Good at the SAMA awards. Thee award-winning vocalist and singer who worked on the song with popular hitmaker DJ Maphorisa said the news was special to her.
Feel Good remix was nominated in the Remix of the Year category alongside Uhuru by Sun-el Musician, Azana and Da Capo, Ladon by Manyelo Dafro, Bassekou Kouyate and Da Capo, Mama by Josiah De Desciple, Boohle and Da Capo and Gcina Impilo Yami by Bucy Radebe and DJ Clio.
Lira suffered a stroke while in Germany for a performance, a statement revealed in April. At the time, her team said that her ability to communicate, particularly her speech, had been impacted and that she was undergoing treatment.The 43-year-old’s latest health update comes after she checked in with her fans and followers in May to let them know how she was affected by the stroke and how she is recovering. “The stroke has unfortunately affected my speech; however, I am making lots of progress every day. I will be taking some time to focus on my recovery,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself.
