Felo Le Tee Opens Up About Being Under DJ Maphorisa’s Record Label. Tsholofelo Mokhine popularly known by his stage name as Felo Le Tee or Mr. Mpempe is a South African-born singer, songwriter and musical genius. He echoes hard work and originality within the music industry. Born and raised in Siyabuswa, Mpumalanga, South Africa, Felo Le Tee embarked on his musical career at a tender age.
At the age of 14, Felo with a collection of cassettes playing on both sides with the other one on cue. With the discovery of computers, he then elevated to digital DJing.”I first started out as a DJ, my uncle Abby was the one who taught me the ins and outs of mixing and DJing. I then started producing music when I got to grade 10. After I completed matric, I actually wanted to study music but because I didn’t know which avenues or schools to go to, I ended up studying sound technology at Damelin. By the time I found the music school I wanted to study at, I realised it was too late.”
The star is currently signed under DJ Maphorisa’s Record label, Blaqboy. “It’s pretty dope. I’ve learnt quite a lot from him and what I like the most is how he allows you to be creative and own your songs.”
He has worked on various projects such as “French Ki$$” and other singles with DBN Gogo & Dihno’s album “Thokoza Café”. He recently released his project called “Paradise” where he featured artists such as Kabza De Small, Dj Maphorisa, Daliwonga, Mas Musiq, Vyno Miller, Focialistic, JazziQ and Reece Madlisa and many more, which was recently featured on iTunes top 100. However, like many artists, there is more to Felo Le Tee than meets the eye.
