Dj Maphorisa Gives Himself A Tap On The Back For What He Did For Amapiano Artists. Maphorisa first shot to fame in 2013 as part of the multifarious musical group, Uhuru. The group blew up off the anthemic Y-Tjukutja in 2013, which owned the summer. That same year, Uhuru further enhanced its reputation by producing and featuring on Mafikizolo’s chart-topping, multi award-winning hit single, Khona.A couple years later, in 2016, a year after the group’s decision to pursue solo careers, Maphorisa landed the dream placement when was enlisted to produce on Drake’s One Dance featuring Wizkid and Kyla. Today, he is a pioneer of amapiano sound.

Maphorisa took to social media to give himself a tap on the back he deserves for his work in amapiano and making it accessible for all artists. The DJ said that he suffered so that other kids can eat in the music industry and if he wasn’t in the game, amapiano would have gatekeepers. He also said he took a sacrifice for artists am that they should appreciate him while he’s still alive. See post:

Working his way up through his South African contemporaries, DJ Maphorisa has come together with the likes of Drake, Black Coffee, Wizkid, Major Lazer and plenty more huge names with enormous chart success. The singer, DJ and producer now supplies millions of fans from all over the globe with percussive, house-tinged tracks.“When I produce music, a key element for me is finding inspiration from many sources across the continent and world, with the intention to change the game positively, as well as staying relevant while continuing to touch lives.”
