Mandisa Radebe, popularly known as DBN Gogo is a South African female DJ and producer who gained attention after she featured on the Channel O Lockdown House Party in 2020. Prior to her feature on the popular Live show, she had had successful stints at DJing until her big break. Her outstanding performance on the show drew so much attention to her, causing her to become one of the most talked about female DJs in South Africa from 2020 into 2022.
DBN Gogo was originally born in Durban, but grew up with her parents, Jeff and Bridgette in Pretoria. She also spent 4 years living with them in France. She has stated that living in France exposed her to a large variety of music and artistes. She lived most of her life in Pretoria, and has stated that it is where people majorly know her from.
Her father Jeff Radebe was celebrating his birthday over the weekend, and DBN Gogo took to social media to share the snaps from the birthday celebration. She also wished him a happy birthday that reads: “Happy birthday to my dude.” Check out the pics below:
Despite being known all over South Africa as DBN Gogo, her real name is Mandisa Radebe. She took the name, DBN Gogo because everyone called her “De-Ben Gogo” which was given to her by her friends. However, she is not a Gogo. It was exposed in 2020, Gogo is from a very wealthy lineage and is a relative of President Cyril Ramaphosa. An article published by Briefly in 2021 revealed that DBN Gogo is the daughter of Jeff Radebe, the former minister of energy, and businesswoman, Bridgette Motsepe. Jeff Radebe happens to be a brother in law of Cyril Ramaphosa and Patrice Motsepe. According to reports, his sisters were married to the president and Patrice.
