Lady Du Opens Up About The Brutality Of The Amapiano Industry. Lady Du (born in Vosloorus, Gauteng) whose real name is Duduzile Ngwenya is a South African disc jockey and songwriter. Despite the fact that she began her profession at the age of nine, it wasn’t until 2021 that she gained national prominence. She was ready to quit up at the time, as she would later admit, but fame found her.
Being in the amapiano industry has made Lady Du become a prominent artist and also someone that young people look up to. With that said, Lady Du has opened up about the brutality of the music industry and of the amapiano industry as a whole. “It’s soo sad how old people that should be teaching kids the way are misleading them and taking food from their mouth, then put pressure on them to live a lifestyle they can’t afford!!!! I’ve been trying sooo hard to lift the spirits of all the broken artists in piano it’s sad.”
She also mentioned that she spent the whole of last year saving her money so that she can build something for those struggling. “I cried yesterday when I saw that most of these kids go through the same things, as someone they look up to they call me for advise and it leaves me empty! I spent most of 2021 saving every cent I have to build something that will look after me even outside of music!!!”
She also shared some advice on people that want to scam talent in the name of a record label. “Don’t listen to people that come when you are on your way to stardom and sell you dreams, They just want the piece of your pie!Be smart! If some1 else that’s not a record label that doesn’t have the funds to do it for u still needs to call people says they can help, you can do it.”
Lady Du says industry leaders need to assist in any way they can to help. “The industry needs better leaders I’m telling you!!! The talented kids are crying for help and I’m telling you now the moment you sit down and speak to them you’ll realise they are not the stars they are made out to be,” she added.
