Kamo Mphela Responds To A Fan Who Shot Her Shot About Being Part Of The Yam Festival. YAM Carnival is a brand new London festival that made its debut in the UK capital in summer 2021. Created by the team behind Afro Nation, Yam Carnival is a weekend of culture and music from the African diaspora. Among international artists set to perform on the day is Black Sherif who joins other heavyweights on the continent such as Wizkid, CKay, Flavour, Fally Ipupa, Naira Marley amongst others. Taking place at London’s Clapham Common on Saturday 27th August 2022, the festival brings together the biggest names in Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall and more – plus incredible African food, drinks and good vibes. Kamo Mphela and DBN Gogo are some of the Amapiano artists who will also perform at the international festival. With it being so, a fan shot her shot to Kamo asking her to be a part of the Yam Festival set to take place this year. Kamo agreed for the fan to be there on the day, replying to her: “pull up on me mama.”
DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Major League DJz, Focalistic, Vigro Deep, Kamo Mphela, DBN Gogo and Young Stunna will perform at Yam Carnival on its Piano People Stage. Limited pre-sale tickets for Yam Carnival 2022 are available from Wednesday (February 2) at 10am, before general sale tickets go on sale at 1pm on the same day from here.Yam Carnival will take place on Clapham Common the day before the new London festival Electric City, which will see Chase & Status headlining.The duo will be performing their brand new live show during their headline slot at Electric City, with the likes of Headie One, Andy C and Jme (presenting ‘Grime MC FM’) also set to perform during the day.
