5 Things You Should Know About Spura. Singer and songwriter Spura hails from Parys in the Free State and she is one of the fastest rising stars to look out for within the music and amapiano industry. She recently got signed to one of the biggest record labels in South Africa, which means she’s well on her way to achieving her dream.

Here are 5 things you should know about Spura:

1 Spura’s real name is Tshegofatso Mochela, and she is currently 18 years old.

2 Amahloni is her debut single, and it is a story about young love where the two lovers are not afraid to tell the world about their feelings. The song is written by Danya from Blaq Diamond and Kgosi Mahumapelo, who is the owner of Ambitiouz Entertainment. “A lot of people have been saying they are now in love and the song really speaks to them. People are receiving the song as I hoped they would, it was nice creating the song because I also relate to it here and there.”

3 She recently got signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment. Her debut single, Amahloni, has been making waves.

4 She draws inspiration from Venda artist Makhadzi and she hopes that one day she will work with her. “Makhadzi is everything and more, she’s doing so well in the music business. But I also look up to the late Whitney Houston and Beyoncé, she’s a great performer. It’s amazing to see that you can be anything within the music industry.”

5 She knows there are great things in the industry as well as a more dark side. She is determined to focus on the good so she can achieve all her dreams. “When you’re a young vocalist you follow everyone, and I was discovered by Dada, and he handed me to Ambitiouz Entertainment, and everything came to me as a surprise and till this day I am grateful that he saw the potential in me. Right now, it is overwhelming and scary and not everyone is going to have something nice to say so having to deal with public criticism [is new].”
