In a recent interview, Lebza revealed that his first amapiano song that he produced was Major League and Focalistic’s Overload. “The first piano song I did was called overload by Focalistic and Major League. “I was just trying to be as creative as I can. This happened when Focalistic’s career was starting out. For me, I was in the background, and Focalistic asked for a song so I can be known, and that’s how the song came about,” he said.
Today, he is behind hits like Possible which stars DBN Gogo and Musa Keys. “Jumping to the second track i did, called possible, it’s a song that I co-produced. Possible was a very interesting son. I got a call from Mandisa, and she asked me to come to the studio together with Musa Keys. I had also thought of being in the background on the song, but Mandisa said No (he laughs). She said I will be on the screen and forefront, and today, the song is sitting on 2.5 million views on YouTube,” he added.
Lebza got his stage name when a video director selected him to act as a villain in DJ Mphoza’s video for his track Move. Although Lebza was born in Pretoria, he sees the community of Ivory Park in Midrand, where he grew up, as his hometown. He graduated at Boston Media house with a media diploma majoring in Marketing.
