Maphorisa Wonders If Him And Kabza De Small Get The Credit For Their Fashion. Amapiano pioneers Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa have been making headlines recently for their contribution in the Amapiano movement and the growth of it. Though they are known for their groovy tracks, the stars are also known for their fashion sense more especially when they go play at gigs.
When it comes to fashion DJ Maphorisa always rocks the most expensive brands and his fans tend to complain saying that he must at least try to support local brands just like other celebrities. However, the star is determined to always rock his best. The DJ loves wearing his favourite brands, Louis Vuitton, Dolce and Gabbana, and other expensive international brands. And he never feels guilty about spoiling himself with the most expensive brands. He took to social media wondering if he and Kabza get the credit for their fashion sense.
Recently the DJ posted pictures of himself with his mate, Kabza De Small whom they’ve worked together on multiple Amapiano tracks. On most of their pictures together, the artists are seen in expensive clothes and brands’ carry bags. Maphorisa and Kabza are living their best life.
Speaking on how he met Kabza, the star explained that he saw his talent in a club and he knew right then and there. “Live gigs helped me evolve and stay on top of things on the streets. Before organising a gig, I would always ask: “Who’s popping? What’s going on? What’s new on the scene?” Once in 2018, before doing a show in Soweto, I asked, “Who’s upcoming?” And the streets responded with a conclusive, “Stokie and Kabza”. So I booked them. Kabza had a hot single at the time, “Umshove,” and I immediately suggested that we work together. His friend also told me how he’d been a huge fan of my music from the Uhuru era. But with amapiano, I didn’t want to interfere much by introducing too many new elements. I was already a fan of the sound. Back at the studio with Kabza, I would study him while he did his thing and then step in where I’m mostly good at — songwriting and recording vocals. We had two different chemistries that benefitted from each other. We really vibed in studio, and as a result, composed a lot of music and experimented with new sounds.”
