Focalistic Reacts To His Old Post Before Fame Asking To Join ‘Young Money’ Record Label. More widely known by his moniker Focalistic, real name Lethabo Sebetso, his first big score came via 2018’s Major League DJz smash 19 Tobetsa, the upstart’s bars leaving a lasting impression on everyone in earshot. Since then, a barrage of standout releases have landed thanks to a relentless work rate.
While Focalistic opened up about wanting to break into the music industry from a young age, the star retweeted his old post in 2011, asking for a follow from American rapper Lil Wayne to join his record label ‘Young Money’. He said he is happy that he never deleted his old posts as they show how long he’s been wanting to break it into the mainstream, and so he remembers how it felt then, to also inspire others. “I’m so glad I never deleted my posts! I know exactly how I felt at this point! Trying to make something out of nothing… To anyone working hard out there, it’s possible! To Focalistic today? The only way is UP! Never stop dreaming!10 years later, CEO of my own $ LABEL $,” he wrote. Check it out:
Recently, the star was celebrating all his achievements and milestones as an independent artist. Speaking on his choice to be independent, the star explained that it was a personal choice as he chose to be free. ““I think for me the move to be independent was not inspired by anyone, but it was inspired by the need to own and just be free. For me, music is not like accounting or something. You know? It’s an emotional thing. You can’t have a boss within that, if you’re being as free as possible. That’s what made me want to become independent.”“It’s not easy, but it’s all about finding the right deal. I could have done it easier, internationally, if I had a big machine behind me, working behind me, but what would that mean in terms of the music touching people?,” he said.
