Focalistic Reacts To Being On A Billboard In South Africa For The First Time. Lethabo Sebetso professionally known as Focalistic, is a South African rapper. Sebetso was a footballer prior to pursuing an music career as a rapper, Sebetso released debut studio album Sgubhu Ses Excellent (2020). From Dubai to the UK, Focalistic has been flying the South African flag high while performing in different parts of the world, thanks to the amapiano genre being at its peak.Apart from his music, Focalistic says being himself has granted him opportunities to travel across the world and kept his audience captivated.
Though Focalistic mostly raps in vernacular, that has not stopped him from appearing on a Times Square billboard. While he has appeared on the billboard in New York and Canada, Focalistic is now on the billboard in South Africa for the first time. Taking to social media, the star showed his gratitude for being recognised. “Official Billboard Boyz 🏆on the N1 William Nicol 🚀… first in my country 🙆🏾♂️❤️… definitely not the last! Focalistic was also recently nominated for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. The Gupta hitmaker was nominated in the “Best African Act” category, competing against Ghanaian musician Amaarae, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and Nigerian musicians Wizkid and Tems.
Whereas at the 2021 All Africa Music Awards, he received seven nominations in the Best male artiste, Artiste of the Year, Best African collaborations, Best Artiste African dance, Best Artiste in African Electro, Break out artiste of the year, Song of the Year. Spitting over simmering amapiano tracks since 2017, South African rapper Focalistic has taken rap music into brand new terrain with anthems like 2020’s “Ke Star” including the remix of “Ke Star” featuring Davido released in 2021.
