Maphorisa Shares A Hilarious Throwback Pic With His Dream Milestone. Maphorisa who has been in the music industry for quite a while now has been making headlines recently following his contribution to the Amapiano culture.

Maphorisa shared a hilarious snap of himself a while back before blowing into fame. The star also mentioned his dream which he said is to be on Top10 DJs worldwide. The picture is quite motivational to his fans considering how much he has accumulated and where he comes from. See post:

Maphorisa has been making headlines since he made it into the music industry, however, he made some serious waves when he invested so much into amapiano, making it a sound that even the global audience are now listening to. Speaking on what motivated him to invest so much into amapiano, the star said: “With my gigs, I wanted to understand people’s reactions to this new sound because amapiano was underground. What really sparked my interest in the genre was that, at the time, I was looking to get into something that originated in South Africa. Amapiano is part of kwaito and dance music. When I started working with Afrobeats, which hails from Western Africa, I felt that we didn’t have a sound that strongly represented South Africa. When I started paying close attention to amapiano, I knew that this was a sound that would take South Africa to the world. There’s a lot that you can do with amapiano — you can make it soulful, funky, dusty and hard or jazz it up.”

Phori has done so much when it comes to introducing amapiano to a wider audience, he has also become a household and pioneer of amapiano. “Amapiano was a term that we used to diss a song that didn’t fit neatly into the gqom or house music categories, which were the popping mainstream sounds back then. At some point, amapiano really sounded ratchet and too jazzy, especially to fans of deep house music,” he explained.
