Focalistic Warns Of Maphorisa’s Fake Twitter Account. Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, popularly known by his stage name DJ Maphorisa, is a South African record producer, DJ and vocalist. The star has been in the music industry for quite a while now, however, he gained more popularity and fans after becoming a pioneer and mainstay of the Amapiano sound.
DJ Maphorisa’s Twitter account is currently suspended, and with that being, it has opened a spot for scammers who have created an account pretending to be Maphorisa. The new account has been gaining number of followers considering that the person behind the account pretends to be the DJ. However, Focalistic had a private conversation with Phori on Instagram confirming if whether it was him behind the account; Maphorisa instead denied ever having created another Twitter account after his official account was suspended. He confirmed that the Twitter account is fake and not his. Focalistic has urged fans to stop following the account stating that Phori will indeed make a return. See tweet:
In case you missed it, Maphorisa mentioned that he makes use of social media to make songs blow up. “How it usually happens is that we’ll either do an ordinary or exclusive mix, then publish it. People start paying attention to it — some music bloggers will distribute it on their blogs, websites and YouTube channels. That’s generally how our songs start growing. This usually helps us measure a track’s potential because, the truth of the matter is that, we have a lot of songs but not all of them are going to be massive hits. There’s a trend to this thing! Most songs that made it big were because someone posted a video of, either, myself or Kabza DJing or dancing to it. Social media dance challenges also help songs blow up. Lastly, a big shout out to TikTok for always putting us on!”
