Focalistic Shows Maphorisa Love And Appreciation. The star rapper hails from Pretoria in South Africa, and although he was born and raised there, he later relocated to Midrand. The rapper refers to himself as Pitori Maradona. He was formerly a footballer before he started developing interest in rapping. He got the name, Maradona, during the time he was playing soccer.

Focalistic is undoubtedly one of South Africa’s best breakout artist for the year 2019. He is a versatile South African rapper who claims can rap on any beat even the sound of a bucket. However, this time, Focalistic took to social media to show love and appreciation to amapiano pioneer DJ Maphorisa. The star mentioned that South Africa has to thank God for giving them Maphorisa, and also gave him his flowers. See post:

Maphorisa went on the comment section to thank Focalistic for his words and love. Whole other DJs also seemed to agree with Focalistic that Phori is a goat. See comments:

Maphorisa on the other hand has done incredibly well within the Amapiano scene. Speaking on what motivated him to invest in amapiano, the star said: “With my gigs, I wanted to understand people’s reactions to this new sound because amapiano was underground. What really sparked my interest in the genre was that, at the time, I was looking to get into something that originated in South Africa. Amapiano is part of kwaito and dance music. When I started working with Afrobeats, which hails from Western Africa, I felt that we didn’t have a sound that strongly represented South Africa. When I started paying close attention to amapiano, I knew that this was a sound that would take South Africa to the world. There’s a lot that you can do with amapiano — you can make it soulful, funky, dusty and hard or jazz it up.”
