DBN Gogo Plans To Teach Drake SA Amapiano Dance. Mandisa Radebe “DBN GOGO”, Durban-born DJ has worked her way up to becoming one of the most popular women DJs in the industry. The deep house and amapiano DJ has been making headlines recently for taking the Amapiano movement on an international level. Having played at events such as Ultra, Oppikoppi, Homecoming Africa & worked with brands such as Strawberry Lips & Ray-Ban, she has been able to do everything her way.

With DBN Gogo having headlined in an event in the UK this weekend, where Drake was supposedly at, the South African DJ was so pleased to at a place where Drake was at the same time. She went as far as asking people to tell Drake “we wanna teach him zekethe”. See tweet:

Banna someone tell Drake we wanna teach him the zekethe 😭❤️

Amapiano is going global as some of South Africa’ biggest acts took over the UK at AMA fest 2021. AMA fest brought various artists in amapiano to UK fans, and Mzansi’s amapiano stars, who performed at the festival, included DBN Gogo, Kamo Mphela, Focalistic, Mr JazziQ, Virgo Deep, and rapper Cassper Nyovest. Videos of these acts have been shared over social media, with many South Africans sharing their excitement about the popular genre making its way across the pond, with the some of the pioneers of the genre at the forefront.

Speaking on when DJing became a career, the star said: “DBN Gogo: I think it only kicked in this year when I realized my mom was starting to understand. That’s when I was like “okay, it might be a real thing”. When she’s just like “oh, so you have money mos” and it’s like “yeah, I actually do. I don’t actually need to ask you for stuff”. Like I actually work now as much as it’s weird, I actually work. So that’s when I realized that’s it’s a real thing.”
