Shimza Responds To Maphorisa On Playing Amapiano On His International Tour. Maphorisa has been working hard at growing the amapiano genre considering that it is a South African genre and has a huge chance at breaking it into the international borders.
After Maphorisa politely asked Shimza to play amapiano on his international tour, Shimza replied to Maphrisa saying he has three amapiano hit singes on his sets named Khuza Gogo, Banyana, and LiYashona. “Happy??? These are out this Friday. Banyana, Khuza Gogo and LiYashona so I’ll definitely represent Amapiano in my way! Ra bakena Phori! #AfroHouse#AfroTech,” he wrote.
Finally, Shimza has warmed up to the idea of playing amapiano. This comes after he disapproved of joining the amapiano wave together with other amapiano artists. When Maphorisa asked him to play amapiano at his international gigs the first time, DJ Shimza said it does not seem right for all of them to be doing the same thing because their goals are not set out the same. “We can’t all do the same thing because we all have different goals and paths in our careers, ma brother. You guys are doing perfectly fine without us and it’s amazing to watch from the outside! Keep going! We here to support.”
Heavy K who was also tagged to play amapiano, he responded by saying his 10 years in the industry allows him to be flexible and experiment with other sounds. Even though he can handle Amapiano and House music, he wants to try out other things. “Me I can handle both House and Amapiano, Porry. It marks 10 years of Heavy K this year and I’ll be introducing my other production strong points. It’s necessary for me. To my day-one fans, I’ll never leave you behind but allow me to experiment,” he replied.
