Shimza Remixes 3 Amapiano Biggest Hits Into Afrotech. Unquestionably one of South Africa’s brightest talents, Shimza real name Ashley Raphala has made the transition from aspirant industry young blood to leading light of the global afro house scene at almost breakneck speed. South African disc jockey and record producer Shimza is back in remixing spirit, treating fans to a new compilation.
Shimza has just taped a bit into the amapiano wave, however, he does so with a twist. The star has just dropped Amapiano Afrotech Remixes EP tagged “Amapiano Afrotech Remixes”. Shimza took to social media to share the track with his fans and captioned it, “Released 3 Amapiano Afrotech remixes today, check them out on @SpotifySA @Spotify #Afrohouse #Afrotech.”
Shimza’s foray into the world of amapiano is surprising in the sense that when DJ Maphorisa asked house DJs and others to be playing amapiano music, Shimza had stated that Lawd Porry should let the artist do their thing. Along the line, though, he’s released a piano project. And now he has another, an EP of remixes of works by several artists, including DBN Gogo, MasterBlaq, and DJ Maphorisa himself. The project bears three tracks in all.
