Rashid Kay Claims To Know Maphorisa’s Ghostwriter. DJ Maphorisa who has been in the music industry for over 20 years, has become the pioneer of one of the biggest genres in South Africa right now. He has been showcasing his producing, DJing and now he’s flaunting his other talent.

With Maphorisa recently dominating in the Amapiano vocals, it has sparked some interest towards his own game. However, Rashid Kay took to social media claiming to know who is behind Madumane’s pen game. This comes after Maphorisa shared a video of his verse he did on amapiano hit ‘Izolo’. Rashid Kay wrote, “Dankie Reason for the ghostwriting.”

Amapiano has become one of the biggest, if not the biggest, genres in the country with a wide range of artists, producers and vocalists with it present on radio, and dominating groove too. South African rapper Reason also joined the amapiano craze and announced on social media that he is re-branding and will go under his new moniker, Sizwe Alakine. This was right after he announced his yanos collaboration with Maphorisa.

Reason’s decision to move to amapiano shocked many fans. While he got applauded by some for doing so, critics also came his way. Cassper, who dropped his own amapiano project recently, joined the debate when one fan asked if those who subbed Cassper for doing yanos would come for Sizwe now.The Tito Mboweni star said it was unlikely, but he was not losing sleep over the hate.“They aren’t gonna say s**t. It’s not what you’re doing, it’s who is doing it. The truth is I am the pulse. I am so connected to the culture that I can’t set a foot wrong. They always criticise in the beginning but they always follow. It don’t matter no more though, it’s adapt or die.”
