Amapiano Artists Pay Tribute To The Late Shona Ferguson. The South African entertainment industry has suffered yet another tremendous loss on Friday, 30 July 2021, after actor and producer, Shona Ferguson(47) passed away. Ferguson, who was the husband of legendary actress, Connie Ferguson, died at noon due to COVID-19 related complications.

The news of his passing was shared in a media statement released by Ferguson Films, the company that he co-owned together with his wife, on social media platforms. The statement mentioned that previous media reports stating that Ferguson died of a heart operation, were false.”It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Mr. Shona Ferguson. He passed away at noon today (Friday, 30 July 2021).Mr. Ferguson’s untimely passing was due to COVID-19 related complications and not a heart operation as reported in the media. We ask that you give the family time to process this painful loss and respect their space during this time. More details will be shared in due course,” the statement read.

It was and still is a sad day on the TL as colleagues, friends, family and fans continue to share their memories with the late star. Amapiano artists also took to social media to pay tribute to Shona, sharing emotional heartfelt condolences to the Ferguson family and friends.

Major League DJz shared an emotional message as they paid tribute to the late legend. “You changed the SA Film industry forever. What a inspiring solid family man , I would wake up everyday and watch your insta stories to get inspired for the day. Your go was unmatched, an African giant has fallen 😢 RIP King Ferguson,” they wrote.
