Watch! Boity Is The Latest Rapper To Crossover To Amapiano. Boitumelo Thulo, popularly known as Boity, is a South African television personality, rapper, actress, businesswoman and model. When she announced herself as a rapper a few years ago, many were skeptical, until she silenced critics after her hit single Wuz Dat? featuring Nasty C became popular and was also well received.

From being a TV presenter to beauty industry mogul in the making, and even launching her own beverage brand, Boity is always trying new things. This weekend, Boity hinted at another departure when she revealed her feature on an Amapiano beat with amapiano star Focalistic. This left many of her fans and of the amapiano movement amazed asking if whether Boity is joining the amapiano train. Watch video below:

Here are some of the reactions from her fans:

Amapiano is the biggest genre in South Africa right now that most artists are jumping into amapiano, including well-established rappers. Amapiano – a vibrant and heady mix of deep house, gospel-inspired keyboards and traditional percussion. It’s fun, funky and impossibly cool. Between 2017 and now, the genre’s popularity has moved well past South Africa’s borders. Amapiano has been a tidal wave on the local music scene, even gaining traction overseas.

Focalistic on the other hand is an MC for our times. Focalistic, real name Lethabo Sebetso, his first big score came via 2018’s Major League DJz smash 19 Tobetsa. Since then, his releases have landed thanks to a relentless work rate. For proof, think three singles, an EP and the albums Sghubu Ses Excellent and Quarantined Tarantino in the last 12 months alone. He has now collaborated with multiple artists outside Mzani, in a mission to grow the amapiano movement.
