Here’s Maphorisa’s International Dream Collabo. DJ Maphorisa is a record producer, DJ and vocalist who has been in the music industy for a while now. He has worked with and has received production credits from several notable artists, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, TRESSOR, Kwesta, Uhuru, Drake, Black Coffee, Major Lazer, Runtown, C4 Pedro, Kabza De Small and Era Istrefi
Though one might think the star has worked with some high profile international artists , DJ Maphorisa still has a dream collabo which he says he is still praying for to come true. He said his dream collabo is to work with Rihanna. He mentioned that he has linked up with a lot of international artist like, “Jason Derulo, Akon, Rich Homie Quan,” he said. “I haven’t linked up with Rihanna, I’m still fasting, I’m praying for that dream to come true,” he added.
Speaking with OKAYAFRICA on the wave of African artists working with international names — on the Major Lazer track “Particula” and being a co-producer on Drake’s ‘One Dance’, Maphorisa said: “Working on these projects was exciting. Most importantly, for me, it was also about learning new lessons and ways of doing things so I could spread them to others and change the game in my country. South Africa is too enclosed — everything just stays here! Most South Africans don’t travel so only a few things ever blow up internationally! That’s a trend that aspiring artists need to see us changing.”
