DJ Jaivane Announces Major Partnership With One Of The Biggest Sports Brands. First there was kwaito, then house and then gqom was the talk of the town. Now, South Africans are jamming to another kind of beat. Amapiano isn’t only dominating dance floors all over the country, but it has taken over everything from the airwaves to township streets. And it’s made DJs like Jaivane quite popular.

With amapiano being the biggest genre right now and DJ Jaivane being one of the originators of amapiano, the star has massive fame and even brands are queuing to work with him. Jaivane has just announced a biggest partnership with NIKE SA. Taking to social media, Jaivane wrote, “Proud to Announce My Partnership with NIKE SA this Coming Saturday @Sportscene SandtonPlus I’ll be Playing a special 2hour set for y’all 1pmto3pm. See you there🙏🏽#OwnLaneBoy🛣🐘#Simnandi.”

The email DJ Jaivane shared reads, “As you know, we have launched our DJ series in Sportscene Studio which is based in sportscene Sandton City. Every Saturday, a weekly DJ feature hosting DJs in the South African music industry, we have a Live DJ set from the studio which is live streamed to sportscene Radio which is played across 300 of our sportscene stores.”

His years of dedication have paid off, as his heady days of fame are a far cry from humble beginnings. Back in the day they(together wit Stokie) were “thanked” with a plate of food or scones and gemere (ginger beer) for DJing. Though now they get thousands of rands for every appearance, Jaivane said it was never about money. “Even though I was broke, I was at my happiest when I was DJing. “Apart from just being DJs, we owe our success to being consistent and dedicated to creating and playing quality music,” he adds. Looking back at how far they’ve come, he gets a bit emotional,” he said.
