Ciza Speaks On Working With Maphorisa On ‘Bank Notification‘. Rapper and Afrobeats artist Ciza made an entrance into the music industry last year with the release of his debut singles Come Alive and Adje, which took Africa by storm with over 1 million views on YouTube and hitting the Top 5 charts across national radio stations in South Africa and Nigeria. Ciza decided to tap into the yanos scene as he released his debut EP titled ‘Golden Boy Pack’ featuring industry heavyweights Major League, Maphorisa, Abidoza, and Tanzania’s Superstar Marioo.
The star calls himself the Africa Golden Boy and has released his third already certified hit single titled, Bank Notification featuring DJ Maphorisa. Speaking on the song and working with Maphorisa, Ciza said: “Bank Notification is a feel-good song. It shows my versatility and creativity. It merges Pan African Afrobeats and Amapiano. Working with Maphorisa always pushes me to be my best and be creative. The song has over 160 000 Streams on Spotify, it charting on Spotify Top 50 and reached Apple Top 100 and is a hit on Shazam Top 100.”
Though the pandemic was a negative impact on most artists, Ciza too, however, his career continued to skyrocket. “This has been a tough time for many families and artists. I just want my music to make people feel good and bring relief and joy to people suffering from emotional, physical, and psychological trauma. I hope this will soothe the pain of hardships experienced during this global pandemic,” he opened up.
He is the son of music industry giants Nhlanhla and TK Nciza, so music runs in his blood.“My parents played a huge role in the artist I am today. They taught me discipline. They did not want me to use their names to get ahead or to use the privilege, but would mostly encourage me to work hard, create my own name and build my own brand. I won’t lie and say there is no pressure, but I never want to be known to just ride on my parent’s name,” he said.
