Cassper Reacts To The Reception Of His Latest Album ‘Sweet and Short 2’. Cassper Nyovest has just released his 8th studio project titled ‘Sweet And Short 2’ which is an amapiano joint. His consistency within the music industry is just as clear as his last offering was ‘Any Minute Now’ album which still sits on top list of all time most streamed hip hop projects in the country, and the project was dedicated to his son. In his amapiano offering, Cassper started the movement with his “Khotso” track where he chose to go solo before connecting with Abidoza and Samthing Soweto to join him in celebrating the “Joy” in his heart amidst his new born baby.
It has only been over 24 hours since Cassper dropped a yanos project ‘Sweet And Short2’ but it has already managed to top charts. Cassper is very pleased with how well Mzansi and piano lovers are receiving his album. Six of his songs off the new album are on the top 10 chart on Apple Music. He wrote, “#SweetAndShort2 has 6 songs on the Top 10 chart right now. Thank you so much for the love. Very happy with the reception.”
Cassper has long said that he has wanted to branch more into the amapiano genre. “This is an experimental project where I’m taking an authentic South African sound and having fun. I’ve always been about authenticity, so this is right in my lane,” Cassper told Apple Music.
“Abidoza and I started making music, then heard other people’s voices on these songs. We would play them all the music we had and they’d pick the songs they wanted to be on. That’s why I love amapiano so much—collaboration is so important to the genre,” he added.
‘Sweet And Short 2’ has been on high demand for many months now since Cassper announced that he will be dropping a piano project this year. The project consists of 10 dope yanos tracks and features other top notch music artists in the country like Abidoza, Samthing Soweto, LuuDadeejay, Kammu Dee, Lady Du, Ma Lemon, Semi Tee, Boohle, DJ Sumbody, Reece Madlisa, Thulz, and Zuma as he strives into creating a new history.
