EarthGang, an American hip hop duo from Atlanta, United States, ae the next in line to appreciate Mzansi’s sound, amapiano. The duo composed of Atlanta-based rappers Olu and WowGr8, shared a video of themselves on their Insta story jamming to Cassper’s recently released amapiano track ‘Siyathandana’ where he featured record producer Abidoza and songstress Boohle.
Cassper reacted to the video by reposting it, and captioning it, “Haha get it boys!!” Wacth the video below:
This is a big deal to amapiano, as it is enough sign that indeed amapiano continues to grow not only in South Africa, but internationally too. Earthgang members are co-founders of the musical collective Spillage Village, with JID, Hollywood JB, JordxnBryant, 6LACK, Mereba, and Benji.
“Siyathandana” is the third instalment release from Mufasa, and the jam has received a ‘yes’ from the yanos fans. The almost seven-minute long song serves as, yet, another reminder that Cassper Nyovest is always at the forefront of musical shifts — the latest being amapiano. Short and Sweet 2.0 is the sequel to Cassper’s 2018 release of the same name, and follows the powerful 21-track Any Minute Now album which dropped in September last year. The well-produced “Siyathandana” will contest the popular “Angisho Guys”, which features amapiano’s finest DJ Lady Du and will probably put fans in a bind. The 10-tracked Short And Sweet 2.0 project is set to be released on the 30th of June 2021. The album is currently available for pre-save on Spotify and Apple Music.
