Ms Party Drops Much Anticipated Single Featuring Josiah De Disciple and Lady Du. Olwethu Mlotshwa goes by ‘Ms Party’ on Twitter, and in his bio he describes himself as a “DJ, TV director, gender Queer, and One Big Festival”. However, you may know him as DJ Olwee, master of the dance floor at clubs, festivals and Prides. Ms Party has been exceptional lately and today Olwee decides to venture in to something special with Josiah De Disciple to emerge as the latest Kings And Queens in the new genre.
Ms Party, Lady Du and Josiah De Disciple celebrate Pride month with a brand new song titled “Kings And Queens”. The song was written specifically to celebrate Pride month. Ms Party took to social media announcing that the highly anticipated single is out. See tweet:
“The song literally took a few hours to make, The process was so easy!Thank You to @DjladyDu & @JosiaAlexTheKid for this Song! “I’ve made songs, but none of them have ever made me wanna drop them…Then @DjladyDu said let’s work on something & we did it!,” said Olwee on the phone with Metro FM.
Lady Du has been one of the year’s biggest successes. She has not only dished dope jams, she has also collaborated with some of the top artistes and DJs in the music industry. While the same goes for Josiah De Disciple whose new “Spirits of Makoela Vol 2: The Reintroduction” has gotten great reviews.
Speaking on realising that DJing was one of his talents, Olwee said: “I have always been musically inclined and had a love for it. I grew up living with my uncle, who is a DJ, and he showed me the basics. I never really imagined that I could become a DJ as it’s not a ‘gay thing to do’. During my UJ days, my friend, Roger, said we should DJ for money on the side and luckily it was something I could already do. After a lot of practice and playing more frequently, the more I enjoyed it. As a dancer, I expressed myself musically with dance, but DJing enabled me to express myself through the music I played and making other people feel good through dancing. I fell in love!”
