She took to social media explaining that she throws money in the sea as a way of appreciation to God and her ancestors for everything. She also stated that while in the process of doing so, the waters splashed her which according to her was a sign of being baptised. “Yho the most amazing thing happened today, I went to go pray and throw money in the sea just to say thank you to God and my ancestors for everything, as I said amen that wave hit the rock I was standing on, I was showered, this to me means so much, as I believe in signs. I am sitting now at the airport wet from head to toe but I definitely know I was baptised today ❤️❤️❤️ for a second I thought it was going to pull me in. 🕯🕯🕯🕯 sibonge abadala 😍 lol people are staring at me 😂😂🤣🤣 thinking I wonder bekunetha kuphi kanje,” she wrote.
In 2012, she returned home to South Africa and ditched the beauty industry to pursue music again. “I was tired of massaging people, touching faces, and doing beauty therapy. I wanted to be a famous musician,” Lady Du said. For years, Lady Du struggled with getting her big break. “I became incredibly depressed about my situation. I had quit my job because I wasn’t happy. The music was not going anywhere, and family was pushing me to start a business or go corporate. But all I wanted was music. Nothing was going right for me. I was very depressed, and I overdosed on pills because I had enough. I attempted suicide and landed in the hospital,” she says. “God said it wasn’t my time to die and I made it out alive,” she added.
