DJ Lady Du Explains Why She Will Never Use Her Body To Advertise Her Music. South African Disc Jockey and amapiano vocalist Dudu Ngwenya known by stage name as Lady Du has been hitting the industry for quite some time now since breaking into fame with hit singles ‘Umsebenzi Wethu’ and ‘Dakiwe’. She is one of the biggest amapiano vocalists and songwriters that ‘kills’ every feature she does.
Lady Du took to social media explaining why she will never use her body as an advertising tool. “I want to address something, my body will never be used as a advertising tool for people to love my music. I will never be told what to do with my looks. it is ok to gain weight, it is ok to not wear make up, it is ok to have flaws, it’s ok to appreciate who you are and for people to love you just the way you are. When they meet you the love won’t be changed by trying to look perfect, when you’re not!!!! Facts!!!!! And make sure this sinks in!!! I am comfortable with my skin, my body and where I am in life. I wear short things when I want too but it’s only because of my dancers, me personally?? I’d perform fully dressed. I’m a musician!!!!!!! It ends daso mangenge. Simnandi angithi??? I don’t do fake not now not ever angenithi WAWA,” she wrote.

Lady Du has been working on her music career since the age of 9 years old, and it was only in 2020 that she received her big break. Just when she was ready to quit again, she received a call from Tumelo “Mr JassiQ” Manyoni who introduced her to Amapiano music. She made the singles Dabula and Superstar. “Superstar is me manifesting my life into existence. I sang about being a superstar, driving big cars, and living my dream life and that’s exactly what I received within a year,” she said.
