10 Things You Should Know About Tyler ICU. Tyler ICU is a South African musician and record producer who has produced a number of hit tracks, in different genres, although he’s now known as the amapiano mainstay. Having produced and worked on a dozen songs, Tyler ICU officially landed his first amapiano hit in 2021 alongside DJ Maphorisa titled ‘Banyana’, that made the yanos fans finally recognise him.

Here are 10 things you should know about Tyler ICU:

1 Tyler ICU’s real name is Austin Baloyi.

2 He was born and raised in Tembisa,Johannesburg.

3 Tyler is signed under DJ Maphorisa’s Blaqboy Music says that working with artists such as Maphorisa is a very good experience and learning curve for him when it comes to the mastering of his craft.

4 Tyler said that Dr. Dre got him interested in doing music in general because he was the leading producer in 2002 and 2003. “I started exploring with beats when I was about 10-years old and that’s when I got my first computer. When I was 15 years old I started to make the work more professionally,” he said.

5 He is the man behind Cassper Nyovest’s famous hip hop song Good For That.

6 He has worked with the likes of Riky Rick, King Monada, Shasha, Sir Trill, Kabza De Small, and DJ Maphorisa.

7 The star said that he would love to work with Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

8 His advice for upcoming artists is that they should keep working as hard as they can and never ruin relationships. “One of the things that I’ve learned in the industry is never ruining relationships. Also keep working, never stop or go by season,” he told MGOSI publication.

9 The star also said that he would like people to know that he can do any type of music and they should not put him in the box.

10 His hit song with Maphorisa titled ‘Banyana’ has amassed over 1.4 million views on YouTube after two months of its release.
