MiCasa’s Single ‘Mamela’ Reaches A New Milestone. Mi Casa house trio and band consisting of three members, Dr Duda (producer) and pianist, J’Something (vocalist and guitarist), and Mo-T (trumpeter) have been releasing smash hits since the day they shot to fame. Although they might have had a short break few years ago, the duo returned with ‘Mamela’ single which is still making waves since the day it was released.

South African Afro-house group ‘Mi Casa’ has received a gold plaque for their single ‘Mamela’, off the trio’s We Made It album, which celebrates the band’s 10-year anniversary in the music industry. Taking to social media, J’something was emotional following receiving the gold plaque and wrote: “My friends I have some amazing news to share with you … ‘Mamela’ by my band @MiCasaMusic is officially GOLD 🥇I am so proud right now! This is one of the most meaningful moments in my career … I’m so glad you have fallen in love with this song! #MamelaGOLD”

“Words will never be able to capture what this moment means to me. I wrote this song in one of the hardest moments of my life. The opening lines were written in the ICU where tomorrow was not guaranteed and all we had was the moment to live in and hope to allow us to dream about a getaway when all the darkness would subside. When I recorded this song, I laid it down in one take. I knew my heart and soul was in it and that we had managed to capture an emotion that was beautifully conveyed in the form of a song. I know a lot of you have found light in this song and many of you have gone on a little ‘getaway’ because of this song. I know it’s been a soundtrack to many special moments and that’s all I wanted to leave with you,” J something said.
