Kamo Mphela Celebrates #NkulunkuluDanceChallenge Major Milestone. Vocalist and dancer Kamo Mphela has been teasing ‘Nkulunkulu’ song since November 2020 and following its release, it has so far been well received. “Nkulunkulu” is the lead single and title track to her EP, which dropped on the 9th of April 2021. The 4-track EP features some of amapiano’s biggest names including Vigro Deep, MFR Souls, Reece Madlisa, Zuma, Major League DJz and more. Although it has only been a month since she dropped ‘Nkulunkulu’, it has reached a major miestone worth celebrating.
Being a dancer herself and having choreographed the dance moves in her music video has no doubt had an influence in creating nkulunkulu dance challenge. The dance challenge amassed over 12.m million participations from all around the world. Kamo took to social media to post a video of a Chinese trio participating in the dance challenge. “#nkulunkuludancechallenge sitting on 12.4M videos thank you so much , make sure you stream the rest of the EP. @tiktok,” captioned Kamo.
The song and its accompanying visuals serve as her first official song and release under her company, Kamo Mphela Entertainment. Kamo Mphela’s dance moves has made her become the internet sensation and has danced all her way to other countries. She recently just came back from a tour in Nairobi, Kenya, where she performed songs from the EP, and did guest appearances on radio and TV. In addition, she also recently choreographed Spotify’s African Heat global campaign, which had dancers from Lagos, Accra, London, New York City, and her ttogether with her crew.
Speaking on releasing her fist debit, Kamo said: “Finally! I’m beyond excited to drop my very own song. I’ve been working on a project for some time now and ‘Nkulunkulu’ is the first of many new songs from me. I can’t wait for my fans to hear and dance along with me to my music.”
