Focalistic Reveals How He Reacted After Seeing Diddy Jamming To His Song. That new sound called amapiano is a vibrant and heady mix of deep house, gospel-inspired keyboards and traditional drumming. It’s fun, funky and impossibly cool to be jammed anywhere around the world. Amapiano has the potential to overtake Afrobeat as the next popular genre to emerge from the continent.
Focalistic has earned a place at the table and has achieved his goal to introduce the amapiano culture internationally. Focalistic witnessed the international sensation Diddy jamming to his hit single Ke Star featuring Vigro Deep.
Diddy posted a video on his Instagram Stories of himself and his crew feeling the beat and dancing to the smash song. Not long after Diddy shared the video, Mzansi Twitter caught wind of it and expressed their excitement for Focalistic getting the international recognition he deserves. Taking to social media, the star expressed his excitement to being recognised by Diddy. “Dankie Modimo! Diddy playing Ke Star on his IG stories! Ase trap tse ke pina tsa ko kasi” (trap music is kasi music),” said Focalistic.
Focalistic came across the video and was humbled the US sensation was loving his track. “When I saw the video I think I was I studio, and I saw the video around 5am. I was super excited man,” said Focalistic in an interview.
After Diddy jammed to his track, more international recognition followed as days after ‘Ke Star’ was jammed to by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. The song became such a hit that even Nigerian star Davido jumped on the song for a remix and it topped the global billboard chart in the US. The song completely launched Foca’s fame and introduced him to countries outside South Africa.
