Focalistic Reacts To ‘Ke Star’ Remix Being The Only African Song Featured On US Time Magazine’s Best Songs Of 2021 So Far. South African performing artist Focalistic has been on a journey to take amapiano to the rest of the world, starting with that he enlisted Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido to feature on the remix of ‘Ke Star’ produced by Vigro Deep. The remix has been making waves in the digital streaming platforms and topping charts.
The star has officially entered the International waves, earning the recognition he deserves. Focalistic’s ‘Ke Star’ remix featuring Davido and Vigro Deep has been listed as the only best African song to come out of 2021 by TIME magazine. Pitori Maradona took to social media to celebrate his win with his industry pals and fans. “🙏🏾🔥 @TIME 🇺🇸Magazine says #KeStarRemix is one of the best songs to come out in 2021 so far 🙆🏾♂️ @davido @VigroDeep Danko! The only African song on the list 🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️ ASE TRAP TSE KE PINA TSA LEFATSHE 🌐 https://t.co/3Z7xFcsUqO https://t.co/jZgXPuESoo,” he wrote. See tweet:
The remix is just as good as the upbeat original hit and the addition of one of Nigeria’s best Afrobeats artists gives it an edge. This comes after Focalistic shared a video on Twitter of him hanging out with Davido and teaching him Pitori slang. The video shows Davido easily pick up the lingo and had music fans subsequently excited for the “Ke Star” remix drop. Davido and Focalistic had recording sessions in Nigeria ahead of the release.
Focalistic has managed to successfully merge a distinct South African sound which emerged from Pretoria with hip-hop and amapiano. The “Ke Star” remix with Davido is another instance of South Africa’s amapiano movement spreading across Africa. His music is now being listened to across the world.
