Following the success of their collaboration on ‘Ke Star’, South African performing artist Focalistic and Davido prepare to drop a joint Extended Playist. On April 5, 2021, news broke that Nigerian superstar, Davido and South African rapper, Focalistic are set to release a joint EP. The EP is set to drop during the months of summer. The news broke during an Instagram Live conversation between the DMW boss and the Pitori Marado, as he further taught Davido some few Pitori slangs. Both artistes expressed their desire to extend their collaboration into making an Extended Playlist. “Me and Davido are actually doing a joint EP, so we got some interesting features in there as well, so you gotta look out for that,” he said.
The remix for “Ke Star” was a move that kickstarted Pitori Maradona’s continental dominance. Amapiano as a sound has proven popular in many parts of the continent and some parts of the world. The ‘Ke Star’ remix was such a smash that it topped music charts in both Nigeria and South Africa. A week after dropping the remix, Focalistic followed-up with the song’s visuals. The video show performance scenes by the two musicians flanked by dancers.
‘Ke Star’ topped the US global chart, making it the first South African song to ever do that. From making it on Times Square Billboard in New York, to seeing the likes on Diddy, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz vining to his song. He has done so much for himself in the music industry and played a part in introducing amapiano to other countries.
