DJ Maphorisa Shares His Thoughts On Dating Broke Girls. DJ Maphorisa is an amapiano pioneer who has been in the music scene for a long time now, and has gained more fame with the biggest and fastest growing sub-genre, amapiano. Although the star is known for his snaps either dripped up in expensive clothes or with a luxurious cars, this time he has revealed his experience with something that left social media users with different reactions.

DJ Maphorisa has revealed his experience on dating broke girls and left some fans rolling on the floor with laughter, while others agreed with him. In a short tweet, Maphorisa opened up about the toxicity that comes with being in a relationship with a girl that is broke. “Dating a broke girl is so toxic shame,” he said.

Well, Maphorisa has been dragged multiple times for allegedly dating girls way younger than him; this experience could have been garnered from his experience. One social media user wrote: “Where do you expect 19 years old to get money from?”

Speaking on what motivated him to invest so much in amapiano, DJ Maphorisa said: “With my gigs, I wanted to understand people’s reactions to this new sound because amapiano was underground. What really sparked my interest in the genre was that, at the time, I was looking to get into something that originated in South Africa. Amapiano is part of kwaito and dance music. When I started working with Afrobeats, which hails from Western Africa, I felt that we didn’t have a sound that strongly represented South Africa. When I started paying close attention to amapiano, I knew that this was a sound that would take South Africa to the world. There’s a lot that you can do with amapiano — you can make it soulful, funky, dusty and hard or jazz it up.”
