DBN Gogo On Speculations That Her Politically Connected Family Helped Her Career. DJ and music producer DBN Gogo real name Mandisa Radebe has done well for herself building her brand and career in the music industry. Mzansi has been witnessing her career grow since the day she was featured on Channel O’s Lockdown House Party till date. From killing it on decks to releasing timeless amapiano music that have kept South African entertained especially during the pandemic.

As you all know social media is always interested in celebrities’ personal lives but what they discovered about musician DBN Gogo shocked most South Africans. What started out as a chat about Covid-19 statistics and public gatherings quickly became a conversation about family trees and political connections when a keen-eyed Twitter user pointed out that popular DJ and music producer, DBN Gogo is the daughter of Mining magnate and business Bridgette Motsepe and South African Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe. Bridgette’s siblings are Tshepo Motsepe and Patrice Motsepe, her uncle and aunt. Tshepo happens to be married to President Cyril  Ramaphosa her uncle while Billionaire Patrice Motsepe is married to Dr. Precious Moloi, her aunt.

While some social media users commended her for getting ahead without the family name, some speculated that DBN Gogo’s music career was helped by her political family. However, Mandisa bashed those speculations. “I started from the bottom and what my family represents due to their occupation has had no impact on my career. Instead, my parents only found out a year ago that I was taking DJing as a serious profession. I can thank my friends in the music industry for assisting me and providing an opportunity for me to participate and show off my talent,” she said.

Mandisa says her hard work will always speak for her and that her legacy will be described as the “jam-packed entertainer”. She released ‘Dakiwe’ and ‘Khuza Gogo’ which are making wave in the amapiano scene. The star started #Dakiwechallenge which is making rounds on social media. The DJ says her journey has only just begun and fans must watch out for more.
