Cassper Responds To Fan Calling Him And Abidoza The “New” Scorpion Kings. Cassper has officially tapped into the amapiano scene following his two amapiano single, including the latest one featuring Boohle. He has been making headlines recently for his versatility of being able to jump on any music genre and keep Mzansi on their dancing toes.
Following how well his amapiano singles are being received, one fan asked if whether Cassper and Abidoza are the new Scorpion Kings, however, Cassper begs to differ. Cassper showed the Scorpion Kings’ duo respect, saying their timeless hits in the past 3 years and dedication in pushing the amapiano culture forward has made them gain his respect. “Nononono , respect Scorpion Kings. Those guys gave us timeless hits back to back for 3 years straight. They also pushed the culture forward in a crazy way. Me and Doza are just creating our own wave nje. Small steps, biki by biki. Hit after hit!!!,” Cassper wrote.
With amapiano having taken over the South African and the rest of the world’s airways, there is no way you can talk about the genre without mentioning one of its creators “Scorpion Kings”, the super DJ, vocalist, producer, and duo of DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. Having released three consecutive hugely successful projects in a year, 2019; the self-titled Scorpion Kings, Piano Hub, and The Return of The Scorpion Kings, the duo have spent the past 3 years travelling across the world, introducing the amapiano sound and culture to the public.
The duo have since been revolutionising the amapiano sound and exploring new sounds within the amapiano space. The have earned SAMA nominations, have featured Nigerian stars on amapiano tracks, and have also played their mixtape on OVO radio, which was one of the biggest highlights not only for the duo, but for amapiano culture. They have basically earned the respect.
