MFR Souls Speak Up On Their Music Journey. The music duo, MFR Souls started their music journey as far back as 2013. The group is made up of Tumelo Nedondwe and Tumelo Mabe, who are also known as Maero and Force Reloaded respectively. MFR Souls are critical acclaimed as the ‘kings of Amapiano’ by a lot of their fans and are currently at the forefront of the genre.

They said when they started remixing tracks and adding piano back in 2013, not many people were into the sound. “We wanted to be different and at the same time get people to love what we had to offer. It wasn’t easy because people were still into deep house and commercial house back then,” Force said.

Fame was never part of the plan for the duo, as they are still getting used to the idea of being in the spotlight. The duo’s lives have changed since their single ‘Love You Tonight’ became such a huge success. Since then the duo are booked and busy most if not all weekends.

The duo said things started moving quickly for them when they got signed by Sony record label. “It sunk in when we entered the Sony boardroom for the first time to sign our contract. That day I was like okay, this is serious. We have managed to make our name known in a few townships. It was time to broaden our reach,” Force says.

It might seem as if they had an overnight success, but they actually come way back. “Trust me, we didn’t just come up. We started way back when we were just playing for alcohol and ‘thank you’. We would have to walk to gigs and literally have to beg to play or lie to get a slot on the line-up,” Force added.
