DJ Maphorisa Accused Of Scamming A Record Label. DJ Maphorisa is reportedly accused of scammeing a record label owner by the name of Letty Mncube. The amapiano pioneer apparently promised Letty some PR work for two of her up coming artists, however, DJ Maphorisa failed to deliver on his promise.

“Initially he wanted R 48 000 for PR work, the recording of songs, getting gigs for the artists, getting their songs to trend on social media, posting their work on his social media pages and attracting public attention. I became suspicious when he failed to post my artists on his social media page. On the day we were supposed to meet he didn’t pick up my calls,” she said.

Daily Sun reports that Letty approached them to get Maphorisa to pay up the R3 500 he owes her. During their negotiating stage, Letty revealed that DJ Maphorisa charges R48 000 and this is for the two artists to record their music and also get their music to trend on social media as well as being booked for gigs. Maphorisa would promote their work on his social media since he has a huge following and such great influence, so that the public may know of the new talent.

Letty said she did not have the R48 000 which Maphorisa usually charges, so she and the DJ agreed to a deposit of R1 500. After paying the deposit, she then paid instalments which amounted to R3 500. “I ended up paying R3 500. I became suspicious when he failed to post my artists on his social media page. On the day we were supposed to meet he didn’t pick up my calls,” Letty told Daily Sun publication.

Despite the part payment, the DJ refused doing his work, and Letty needs him to pay back the money. Letty said she feels robbed and scammed, and wants her money back.
