Cassper Nyovest Announces He’s Working On An Amapiano Album And How It’s Coming Along. South African rapper Cassper Nyovest has been seen tapping into the amapiano music from his recent features with amapiano artists. The star has been quite open about his 2021 plans of tapping in the amapiano genre even more.

He has now announced that he is working on an amapiano album of his own and that the album singles will be smash hits. Taking to Twitter, Cassper tweeted: “This piano album im making is gonna be a problem as far as picking singles is concerned. Ima have to go the Viral video way cause gwa nyewa!!!”

He now has a record of being featured by amapiano artists and creating amapiano smash hits. His recent feature is on ‘Sponono’ by Kabza De Small featuring DJ Maphorisa, Wiz Kid and Burna Boy. The song went so viral that even the likes of American pop artist and dancer Usher posted a video jamming to ‘Sponono’.

Amapiano music is the current popular sound that has witnessed new artists progressing in it, while some already existing artists are emerging from the sound they are mostly known for to amapiano. Amapiano is extending its reach beyond South Africa and topping the charts in countries around the continent and outside Africa. It is no question why the likes of Cassper wants to tap into the winning music genre. His upcoming amapiano album will come after his 2020 ‘Any Minute Now’ album.

His fans were excited following his recent announcement and cannot wait till Cassper drops his long-awaited amapiano album. One fan wrote: “And it could make you win a Grammy….This sound presents one of the very few opportunities where distinctly South African music can be exported to the world in a new South Africa….We have got to embrace it.” Check out more reactions from his fans and music lovers:
