Cassper; “I feel like Samthing Soweto is my music soulmate”. Rapper and soon to be an amapiano album dropper Cassper Nyovest has worked with many talented musos to release smash hits, but has revealed one musician he considers as his music soulmate.
In an interview with Pearl Thusi, Cassper Nyovest revealed that Samthing Soweto is his music soulmate. “There are so many people I reached out to, and I am glad i did so because that is how I met Samthing Soweto,” Cassper said. Following his ‘Any Minute Now’ album released on the 11th of September, 2020, he featured Samthing Soweto on a track called ‘Friday Night’ and Cassper celebrated Samthing Soweto on social media for his amazing talent. The rapper said on Twitter, that the singer has a soothing voice and special talent.
Before the actual feature happened, Cassper revealed he’s been yearning to work with Samthing Soweto. “Samthing Soweto is an amazing artist. A soothing voice and a special talent. Been meaning to work with him and he blessed me tonight. September 11!” Cassper tweeted.
Being an amazing talent is no fresh news about Samthing, as the singer made history in 2019 by striking a blow for local music in an increasingly globalized world with the single, Akulaleki. His album, Isphithiphithi was also highly streamed in SA. Having these wins and accomplishments in his 30s is a big deal for the star. “I’m 31. For me to come at my age, late-ish, to pull something like that off…” Samthing Soweto revealed last year.
Cassper Nyovest thrilled fans when he revealed that he was working with soul musician, Samthing Soweto, on a track which featured on the album. He stated, “I’ve been in studio with Samthing Soweto for 2 days straight & i feel like i need more time to fully utilize his gift on this project. Oh man, what pleasure, what an honor to be in the presence of such greatness!!!”.
Cassper Nyovest has had only good things to say about Samthing Soweto, and it is no wonder he has referred to him as his music soulmate, considering Samthing’s music success.
